Kali Indiana Live from Mars House

Kali Indiana played live at Mars house 5.30.20. LFMH is a continuation of the great musical experiences offered at Growler/Mars Bar and Grill, in partnership with Omaha Old Market, Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards, and The Reader. KI played their original Nebraska country rock music from our newest EP "Shadow Lake Sessions" as well as a few KI Kovers. They also chatted with Mars a bit about their music. Kali Indiana's second E.P. "Shadow Lake Sessions" hit streaming services 2.28.20, and fans getting a sneak peek at recent live shows are already loving the four-song album. Heavily influenced by Nebraska's thriving red dirt country scene, "Shadow Lake Sessions" is the culmination of a personal journey for husband and wife duo K.C. and Ali Mumy, who lead Kali Indiana. Their tight, interwoven harmonic sound is reminiscent of classic country and bluegrass music but with modern country rock instrumentals. K.C. and Ali’s love for one another shines through on the new E.P. in songs like "Call Her,” sure to be the first dance wedding song of the summer. A song to raise a glass to at the end of the night is "Tennesse's Gotta,” a boot-stomping barn burner sing-along about long days when you just need a tall glass. K.C. and Ali have been collaborating on songwriting since forming Kali Indiana in late 2017. K.C. grew up in Michigan on classic rock and old school country, before moving to the California coast where he played before making his way to the Midwest. Ali sang in Indiana church and school choirs while writing her own music and dreaming of becoming a country music star. When they met and fell in love, the two combined K.C.'s quintessentially country sound with Ali's dynamite power vocals and the resulting harmonies are something only a husband and wife could create. Kali Indiana's E.P. is brought to life in collaboration with lead guitarist Joey Bastian (Omaha, NE), bassist Michael Fernando (Johnson City, TN), and drummer B.J. Conway (Des Moines, IA). The band's second album builds on the success of their self-titled original E.P., streaming now on all platforms. Kali Indiana puts on a high-energy show with something for everyone, taking crowd requests. They weave classic country, rock, and new pop covers into their original set to keep crowds engaged while also specializing in unique mash-ups. Kali Indiana has shared the stage with several national acts including The Great Divide, High Valley, Adam Doleac, Jacob Bryant, Sundance Head, Jon Wolfe, Roger Creager, Josh Ward, and many more. “Ride On” is all about family. KC’s family to be exact. It’s a tribute to growing up in a family where tradition, good old fashioned hard work, and the cowboy way we’re just how it was done. And still is. Hear more from “Shadow Lake Sessions” at http://kaiindiana.hearnow.com.
